Well it's Wednesday......

Yesterday was a nice easy day. I had a couple of service calls in the morning, and for the most part the better part of the afternoon off.  So, when I got home I had a bit of lunch (A granola bar & some yogurt), and decided to play some video games.  After about a half-hour of playing video games, I remembered that I had a dog and that she might like to get some exercise, and since I'm now trying not to be such a fat slob I decided that we would run.

The run was great.  We got 1.5km into the run and I was feeling pretty great.  My cardio isn't great so I was very surprised.  I took a small drink of water and it hit me.  My forehead, neck, chest,..........everywhere started pouring water like someone turned on a damn faucet.  We finished the run, (another 1km) and went home to start preparing dinner for my lovely wife.

Today is Wednesday and my legs are sore.  I have TKD tonight at 7:30.  It's probably going to be rough.  Check back tomorrow and laugh at how dumb I am.

The 1st day Back

When I was in high school, I began my real education, Tae Kwon Do.  I worked out twice a day for 5 years, got my black belt, and won some championships (including the 2000 Ontario Junior Gold).   But life took me away from my beloved sport because of cost, and my moving far from home.

Now I live in a smaller city, with more affordable pricing and more free time.  So I've decided to return to Tae Kwon Do to resume my career and eventually earn my 4th Dan (making me a Master).

Last night was my first night back.  I weighed myself prior to class at 187 lbs.  My goal isto reach 170 lbs before I can even consider fighting.  Not ten minute into last night's class I was completely soaked from head to toe with sweat.  My technique was fairly solid to my surprise, but repeatedly, I found myself entirely winded, gasping for breath while others in the class seemed to be breezing along.  But I'll get back into shape.  And my optimism is bolstered by the fact that I woke up this morning without soreness, or stiffness.  Let's see how long I can keep it up.
